Project Highlight: Roadside Ditch Stabilization with Flexamat

Active erosion along a steep embankment adjacent to a county road had carved a deep channel directly between the travel lane and the hillside, creating both a drainage problem and a long-term threat to the road shoulder. The exposed soil and gravel offered no resistance to continued runoff, and the channel was widening with each rain event.

Interfaceh2o specified Flexamat tied concrete block mat as the ditch liner solution. The articulated mat conforms to the contour of the channel, armoring the soil surface while allowing vegetation to establish through the block openings over time. The result is a permanent, low-maintenance installation that protects the embankment, preserves the road shoulder, and eliminates the cycle of repeated repairs that temporary measures cannot prevent.
